The Little Match Girl Passion

Join Theatre of Voices in Helsinki for a concert featuring the music of Haydn and Lang. 

Theatre of Voices will open the concert with four partsongs by Joseph Haydn. This is then followed by David Lang's 'The Little Match Girl Passion', set to text by H.C. Andersen (The Little Girl with the Sulfur Sticks) and the Gospel of Matthew. It focuses on neglect, abuse, and sacrifice of a child - the girl/savior - as well as time. When do we pass a suffering soul? When do we leave and when do we help?
