Perth Concert Hall co-commissioned The Little Match Girl Passion with New York's Carnegie Hall. In 2008 it won a Pulitzer Priz...e and now it comes to Perth for its UK premiere. Written by Bang on a Can founder David Lang, on 29th Oct it is sung by the original cast, Theatre of Voices directed by Paul Hillier. Lang was inspired by sources as diverse as Hans Christian Andersen, JS Bach and the work of sound FX artists to create his moving theatrical piece.

"I don't think I've ever been so moved by a new composition as I was by David Lang's The Little Match Girl Passion, which is unlike any music I know." Tim Page, Pulitzer Prize Juror
