When Theatre of Voices performed Stockhausen’s epic Stimmung at Carnegie Hall, The New York Times praised the ensemble's performance as “confident and luminous, controlled yet free …” Theatre of Voices returns to give the New York premiere of award-winning Danish director Phie Ambo's visual poem "Songs from the Soil". The film is inspired by well-known works by Arvo Pärt, live performed by Theatre of Voices.

Paul Hillier, Theatre of Voices' artistic director, conducted the world premiere of David Lang’s the little match girl passion and the ensemble recorded it to tremendous acclaim. Both reacquaint themselves with Lang’s music in the writings—the world premiere of the complete cycle.
