The first half of the concert mixes spiritual works for unaccompanied voices by the three composers, Julia Wolfe, Galina Grigorjeva and David Lang. After the interval, the evening is dedicated to the music of one of the world’s most performed living composers, Arvo Pärt. Taking inspiration from sources as diverse as 1960s minimalism and Gregorian chant, Pärt is known for exploring sacred and spiritual themes, rather than chasing the latest trends.
