Theatre of Voices, ToV Band og dirigent Paul Hillier giver fredag 28. juli koncert i Trinitatis Kirke som del af 2023 Theatre of Voices Festival.
Koncerten er bygget op om Heinrich Schütz’ inderlige Musikalische Exequien fra 1636 – skrevet i skyggen af 30-årskrigen, og David Fennesys Two Pieces about Heinrich Schütz med Schütz’ egne ord om smertelige tab af familiemedlemmer. Temaet om tab er gennemgående for 2023 Theatre of Voices Festival. Dette er i høj grad inspireret af verdenssituationen, som den ser ud nu, men er også en refleksion over menneskelivets vilkår i almindelighed. Programmet slutter med et strejf af håb i Monteverdis lovsang til Jomfru Maria.

Theatre of Voices, ToV Band and conductor Paul Hillier are performing Friday 28th July in Trinitatis Church as a part of 2023 Theatre of Voices Festival.
The program consists of epic baroque music, new music and incredibly beautiful notes from the Italian renaisssance.
Tonight’s concert revolves around Heinrich Schütz’s heartfelt Musikalische Exequien from 1636 - written under the Thirty Years’ War, and David Fennessy’s Two Pieces about Heinrich Schütz in Schütz’ own words about painful losses of family members. The theme of loss is recurrent for 2023 Theatre of Voices Festival. This is eminently inspired by the current world situation, but also a reflexion on the conditions of being human in general. The programme concludes with a ray of hope in Monteverdi’s praise to the Virgin Mary.
