ToV in Elbphilharmonie with ‘A Western’

2019 year takes off with quite a season highlight on Sunday 13th January in one of the world’s most spectacular concert halls, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Tickets have long been sold out for this Sunday!

Theatre of Voices has been invited by NDR to explore the great hall with a concert of purely a cappella music. Our artistic director Paul Hillier has put together a program that features both early music from Machaut to Cage, Pärt, Goebbels and Jóhannsson.

The centerpiece of the program will be the world premiere of Michael Gordon’s “A Western” - a work based partly on the story line of the western movie classic ‘High Noon’. Gun fire and all !
