Music Café – North Atlantic Route
Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 4.30pm
Theatre of Voices and world-renowned Danish recorder player Michala Petri are preparing for a North Atlantic tour, which this Summer will take them from Denmark to the Faroe Islands and Iceland and in 2020 to Greenland. They tour primarily Nordic music and commissions by composers from all of these places: Arnannguaq Gerstrøm (Greenland), Sunleif Rasmussen (Faroe Islands) and Jóhann Jóhannsson (Iceland).
Before taking off, the group will be presenting the project at a casual afternoon event in LiteraturHaus, performing excerpts from selected works, accompanied by talks with Michala Petri and composer Sunleif Rasmussen - all led by Paul Hillier.
In the spirit of the Danish holiday St. Bededag (General Prayer Day) hot wheat buns and tea will be served as part of the admission. The bar will also be open for further purchases.
The tour is sponsored by:
